So Long, Slow Night

In case you haven't noticed, I've pretty much bailed on this here blog. It's been fun posting interesting (to me) minutia from my life and work, but I'm simply too lazy to go through this many steps to get content online.

Not to worry. That doesn't mean I'm bringing my art troops home. Nay. I'm increasing, or surging, as they say.

Thanks to my friend Flickr, I'll be posting with greater efficiency, leaving me with more time to create better works (such as the painting pictured left-of-center). This also means more free time for you, as you don't feel obligated to read my nonsensical ramblings that accompany each image. You can spend your free time rebuilding America or making a sandwich.

Corporate Swine

This is a sketch of a watercolor that I'm working on. I'm not quite sure if this is going anywhere yet. It's currently called "Corporate Swine". Pretty self-explanatory, right?

I figure there are a whole army of Tea Party supporters itching to hang something like this on their walls.

It feels like he needs a cigar. Lighting a cigar with a c-note is a little 80's Wall Street.

I know Gordon Gekko would approve.

Antique Lure

I thought a vintage fishing lure might be a good object for practicing my watercolor technique. This one is still in progress, but I'm getting pretty close.

I'm going to meet with a printer today to view some samples so I can get prints made to add to my Etsy store (which currently sits empty). If all goes well, I'll have them up this week.

Three Blind Koi

One of my projects on my "To Do" list for about two years has been to complete some watercolor paintings that I had sketched out in pencil.

It's pretty ridiculous how I can get busy with other projects and abandon one that was pretty important to me. In fact, I had completely forgotten about these drawings until I stumbled across a folder containing the scans of the drawings.

Ha! I've completed one!

Now, the project that I plan to not forget about will be setting up my Etsy store front so I can offer prints of these paintings up for a reasonable price.

I'll have this Koi print up first. I'll probably break it up into three smaller prints of each fish also. I'm also going to look into getting my Willie painting digitized (because it's so big!) so I can sell prints of it, too. I have a few nudes to paint, as well as one anxious cat.
